The idea behind our Association originated in 2001
Our Association in the current shape was founded in July 2007. Previously, most of us had been working for the ‘Schools for Peace’ Association, which we founded in 2002. Now, under the new name ‘Education for Peace’ and with an extended remit, our competence and effectiveness are increasing…

Thanks to our numerous and versatile abilities and rich experience we are able to establish and develop co-operation with representatives of various cultures, as well as create and complete projects in an effective and professional way…

With all our hearts we want to thank our friend and colleague, Mr Rahman Qul (Andkhoi, Afghanistan), who paid for his unwavering commitment to the rebuilding of Afghanistan with his life.
He was murdered by Islamic fundamentalists in February 2007. We will always hold him dear in our memory.

We support development of education in Asia and Africa in an active way
Education is the key to better living conditions, economic growth and peace. An increased general level of education enhances the chance for establishing a long-lasting peace and can effectively prevent future conflicts.

We help establish independent media in Burma!
The ‘Education for Peace’ Association received a grant from the Solidarity Fund PL for the ‘Burma on Air. Better access to information from independent media through professional radio’ project.
Our initiative also received a huge personal support from Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and leader of Burmese opposition.

Transfer 1 per cent of your income tax
Under article 26 paragraph 9 of act 1 adopted on July 26, 1991 (Law Gazette no. 80, item 350) and referring to individual income tax regulations, expenditure resulting from donations given to non-profit organizations can be deducted from income tax (in the amount of 6 per cent of the income).
